Description
No. 118 Wakeham is a house that was originally two cottages, dating from the late 18th century or early 19th century. It is constructed from large squared and coursed stone blocks and features a slate roof. The building has two storeys and an attic, with a two-windowed front. A large and intrusive raking dormer is positioned above four-pane sash windows, with an additional sash window on the ground floor where a door once was. To the left, there is a 20th-century door. The property has raised verges that are cemented on the left side and stone stacks at each gable end. Although it has lost all its original windows, it is part of a group that includes Nos. 114 and 116, which were likely built at the same time. This group is significant in the context of the later modifications seen in properties in this part of Wakeham.
