Description
This small house, located at 114 Wakeham in Portland, dates from the early 19th century. It is constructed from large coursed and squared stone blocks and features a plain tile roof. The building has two storeys and an attic, with a single window on the front. The windows are 16-pane sashes set on stone cills, and there is a 20th-century door positioned far left. Above the ground-floor door and window, there is a lintel band made of long stones. The upper window may have been enlarged, as the long lintel stone has been cut into, but the sash appears to be an authentic early 19th-century feature. The right side has a raised and tiled verge with a rendered stack, while the return gable is also rendered and includes a small 16-pane window in the attic. There is a straight joint to the adjoining property on the left, but the door lintel continues through. The house number is incised on the stone.
