Description
Nos. 29 and 31 Royd Terrace are part of a terrace of single cell cottages built in 1852. They are constructed from hammer-dressed stone and feature a stone slate roof. The buildings rise to three storeys. Each cottage has a doorway with tie-stone jambs, a cornice on consoles, and a large sash window with plain stone surrounds and a projecting sill, which retains its original 16-paned glazing. The first floor has the same arrangement. On the second floor, there are smaller three-light flat-faced mullioned windows that also retain their 16-paned glazed sashes. Additionally, No. 31 includes a taking-in door to the second floor, which was used for a former textile workshop. There are three stacks along the ridge.
