The guide post at the junction with Heptonstall Road at Cross Lanes is an early 19th-century monolith featuring two dressed faces. The east face is inscribed with directions to "LEE" and "WOOD RD. HEPTONSTALL," with a hand pointing to the right. The west face provides directions to "SLACK COLDEN AND BLACKSHAWHEAD," with a hand pointing to the left.
