Description

The guide post at the junction with Old Shaw Lane is an early 19th-century monolith featuring a pointed head. It has directional inscriptions on both the front and back faces. The south face indicates distances to Hebden Bridge (2½ miles), Hardcastle Crags (2½ miles), and Burnley (10 miles), while the north face shows the distance to London (206 miles). Three hands on the post point to the right, and additional hands point to the right and left.
