Description

Blue Ball House and Blue Ball Cottage are a former public house, now divided into two dwellings, dating from the early to mid-19th century. The building is constructed of hammer-dressed stone with a stone slate roof. It is two storeys high and features quoins. Blue Ball House has a central doorway flanked by flat-faced mullioned windows, originally sash windows, two panes wide, on each floor. To the right and left of the central doorway are blocked doorways with tie-stone jambs and quoined lintels. Gable stacks rise from the roof. Blue Ball Cottage, a slightly later addition, comprises a single cell attached to the left-hand end. It also has quoins, a doorway with a sill tie, and two-light windows on each floor, topped by a gable stack.
