Description
Davey Hall is a house likely built as the Mill Manager's residence for the mill opposite, which is now demolished. It dates from the early to mid 19th century and features watershot masonry with a stone slate roof. The building has quoins and is designed in a double pile layout, standing two storeys high and positioned at right angles to the adjacent cottages. The east front presents a symmetrical three-bay facade with windows that have plain stone surrounds and slightly projecting sills, although the glazing has been altered. The doorway is framed by tie-stone jambs, and there are gutter brackets present. Each return wall features a single bay of four-light flat faced mullioned windows at the rear of the double pile. The gables are coped and include kneelers and stacks. The building is listed for its group value.
