Description

This is an early 19th-century cottage constructed of dressed stone with a stone slate roof. It is a single-bay, three-storey building with quoins. The front door has a wooden surround. It originally had flat-faced mullioned windows with five lights on each floor, with a wider central light, originally sashed. The ground floor window has a doorway inserted and the window has been reduced to four lights, likely when the adjacent buildings were built in the late 19th century. The building likely originally had a gable entrance. It occupies a prominent position fronting the Hebden Water, close to the Old Bridge.
