Description
Ingham Well Farmhouse and the attached barn are a pair of cottages from the early 19th century, connected to a barn that dates back to the early 17th century. The buildings are constructed from hammer-dressed stone and feature a stone slate roof. They are two storeys high, and the barn, which projects forward, creates an L-shape with the farmhouse. The structure has quoins and consists of two cells, each with a flat-faced mullioned window that has a slightly projecting sill and three lights, along with paired doorways at the center, one of which is blocked. The first floor has five-light windows, and there are gable stacks present. The barn has a wide gable with chamfered doorways on either side, which are at different levels to accommodate the slope of the hill. All doorways feature an unusual lintel with two circles carved in relief at the center. The gables are coped with kneelers and topped with crocketed finials.
