Description
Halstead Green is a 17th-century house that was altered and extended in the early 19th century to create three cottages. It is constructed from hammer-dressed stone and features a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and a five-cell front. The first two cells have altered windows, while the third and fourth cells contain a five-light flat-faced mullioned window on the first floor. The fifth cell retains much of its original 17th-century work, including a five-light double chamfered mullioned window on each floor, topped with a hoodmould that has straight returns over the ground floor window. The right-hand return wall features a doorway with monolithic jambs, positioned to the right of an extruded gable stack with offsets. There are four additional stacks of 19th-century character along the ridge. The other cottages have similar doors located at the rear.
