Description
Near Bent Head Farmhouse and the attached barn is a late 18th-century laithe-house that was altered in the early to mid 19th century. It is constructed from hammer-dressed stone and has a stone slate roof. The building features quoins and coped gables with kneelers. There is a semi-circular arched cart entry with a small Venetian window above it. The ground floor windows have chamfered surrounds but lack their original mullions, while the first-floor windows are three-light flat-faced mullioned windows with projecting sills. A wide gabled porch includes a doorway with tie-stone jambs. The building has two stacks at the ridge. At the rear, the original cart entry is preserved, featuring a large monolithic lintel and composite jambs.
