Description

Crimsworth Farmhouse is a late 17th-century house with an early to mid-18th-century attached barn. The house is constructed of large dressed stone with a stone slate roof. It comprises two main sections, a two-story front and a single-story aisle at the rear. The front features double-chamfered mullioned windows, some with four lights and others with five, with a 19th-century gabled porch centrally positioned between them. On the first floor are two chamfered mullioned windows, each with six lights, although some of the mullions have been removed.

To the right of the house is a barn with a tall cart entry protected by a monolithic lintel and chamfered surround. The aisle of the barn projects forward and includes a mistal doorway with a chamfered surround. The left-hand return wall has a coped gable with kneelers and two double-chamfered mullioned windows of two lights. The rear of the house has a two-light double-chamfered mullioned window to the left of the aisle, while the barn features a doorway with a chamfered surround. There are two stacks along the ridge of the building.
