Description
The barn, located 10 metres north of Whitehall Farmhouse, is likely from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of hammer-dressed stone and features a stone slate roof. The elevation facing the yard includes a cart entry with a large monolithic lintel and a similar lintel above the mistal doorway at the lower end. To the right, there is a small two-light flat-faced mullioned window with a matching window above it. The building has quoins, and the right-hand return wall displays a coped gable with kneelers and a stack. The rear side, which faces the lane, has a lean-to porch and a three-light window on the first floor, formed by two square lights on either side of a narrower central light. Part of the barn wall projects forward, featuring quoins, coping, and a kneeler. There is a simple Venetian window with a false keystone above a doorway with tie-stone jambs, and a similar doorway to the mistal at a lower level.
