Description
Stocks Hall is an early 19th-century house constructed from ashlar stone with a stone slate roof. It features two storeys and an attic, presenting a symmetrical five-bay facade. The building has rusticated quoins, a decorative band, and gutter brackets. The doorway, which has monolithic jambs, is topped with a cornice on block consoles and a Venetian window above, which has been opened to create an entrance to a verandah with cast iron railings. On either side of the doorway are two bays containing sash windows with plain stone surrounds. The right-hand return wall includes a central sash window on each floor, with a Venetian window in the attic. The rear of the house displays a similar five-bay facade, featuring a doorway with an architrave, a pulvinated frieze, and a triangular pediment. The gables are coped and include stacks.
