Description
Mytholmroyd Bridge is a Grade II listed structure spanning the River Calder, built in 1684 and widened in 1823. The original bridge, initiated by Timothy Wadsworth, is located to the west and features two segmental arches made of dressed stone, with a central chamfered pier. Each arch is 9 feet wide and has a span of 42 feet. The bridge was widened to the east between 1823 and 1824 using rock-faced stone, which includes two segmental arches with dropped keystones and a central pier that projects forward to form a pointed arched cutwater. Similar land arches are visible on either side, with banking against them. The bridge also features a band and a parapet made of banded stonework.
