Description
This is a late 18th-century laithe-house with an attached barn. It is constructed of thin, dressed stone with a stone slate roof. The cottage is two storeys high and has a single bay, double-pile layout. It features a doorway with tie-stone jambs and a three-light, flat-faced mullioned window on each floor. Above the doorway is a semi-circular arched cart entry, adorned with an impost block and keystone, and a simple Venetian window. A mistal doorway is located at the right-hand end and has monolithic jambs. The left-hand return wall is a wide gable with paired doorways in the centre, one of which is blocked, and a three-light window to the left. There are two-light windows on the first floor, and an attic with a columbarium at the apex. A gable stack is also present.
