Description

Milestone located in front of number 52 on Skipton Road in Eastburn, dating from the early to mid-19th century. It features an arch-headed stone that is overlaid with cast iron and has two projecting faces. The lettering is in relief, with the top reading: "KEIGHLEY & KENDAL ROAD STEETON WITH EASTBURN." The left face indicates "SKIPTON," while the right face shows distances: "5¼ MILES KEIGHLEY, 4 MILES SETTLE, 20¾ MILES KENDAL, 50 MILES."
