Description

No 1 and No 3 on Keichley Road is a house built in 1733, as indicated on the chimney. The building is rendered, but it features dressed stone around the openings and has a stone slate roof. It has large ashlar quoins and is two storeys high with three bays. The windows have 20th-century glazing and unmoulded surrounds. The ground floor of No 1 has been altered to include a shop window and door. The doorway of No 3 is notable for its massive stones on the jambs and a slight chamfer. A large square chimney, which is slightly misaligned with the doorway, has blind arcading and the incised date. The interior has not been inspected.
