Description

This milestone, located opposite number 79 on Bolton Road in Silsden, dates from the early to mid 19th century. It features an arched stone structure that is overlaid with cast iron and has a triangular cross-section. The lettering is in relief, with the top reading "BLACKBURN ADDINGHAM & COCKING END ROAD SILSDEN." The left face indicates "KEIGHLEY ADDINGHAM," while the right face shows distances of "4¾ MILES 3 MILES BURNLEY ILKLEY 18 MILES 6½ MILES."
