Description

The gates and gate piers at the front of the Church of St. James the Great were built around 1896. They are made of ashlar stone and wrought and cast iron. The gate piers are square in shape, featuring chamfered plinths and panelled tracery beneath a triangular hood, topped with moulded caps. The gates themselves are richly decorated in the Art Nouveau style, showcasing a butterfly motif.
