Description
No. 43 Kirkgate is a cottage built in 1755, featuring hammer-dressed stone with one side rendered and a stone slate roof. It stands two stories high with a single-cell, two-bay facade and quoins. The first bay has a small window with plain stone surrounds on each floor. The second bay includes a doorway with monolithic jambs and a window above on the first floor, both of which have altered glazing. Between the first-floor windows, there is a recessed date plaque. A single stack, which has been renewed, is located on the left gable. This cottage is situated in the center of the town.
