Description
Nos 3 and 4 Stirling Street is a house that has been converted into two cottages, originally built in 1762, as indicated by the initials and date "I D S" on the building. It is constructed from thin coursed rubble with dressed quoins and features a stone slate roof. The building is two storeys high and has two bays of two-light flat-faced mullioned windows on each floor, with slightly recessed mullions. The windows of No. 4 still have their original 12-paned sashes. To the left, there is a doorway with composite jambs and a dated lintel, framed by a chamfered surround. An inserted doorway is located to the right, featuring monolithic jambs. The gables are coped and there are chimney stacks, including one centrally located on the ridge.
