Description
No. 267 Glossop Road is a house, now used as offices, built around 1848 with some alterations made in the late 20th century. The building is constructed of brick with stone dressings and features a hipped slate roof, which has two side wall stacks and two party wall stacks. It has a plinth, a first-floor band, and modillion wooden eaves. The house is three storeys high and has a three-by-three window arrangement.
The front elevation, facing Upper Hanover Street, features a central plain sash window with a moulded surround and cornice, flanked by single plain sash windows with brick flat arches. Above this, there are three smaller plain sash windows, with the central one having a moulded surround. The ground floor has a late 20th-century wooden doorcase with pilasters and a pediment, flanked by single plain sash windows.
On the right side, which faces Glossop Road, there are three plain sash windows on each floor, with the upper ones being smaller. Below these, there is a moulded central stone doorcase with a four-panel door and an overlight. To the left of this entrance, there is a plain sash window, and to the right, there is a large square wooden bay window with three plain sash windows. The interior has not been inspected. This building is included for its group value.
