Description
No. 17 North Church Street is a house, now used as offices, built around 1840. The building features a combination of ashlar and rendered brick. Its roof is not visible, and it has a single brick stack on the side wall. The exterior includes a vermiculated plinth, a rusticated ground floor, a first-floor band and sill band, a cornice, an eaves cornice, and a blocking course. The structure has two storeys, a basement, and attics, with a three-window range. There are three plain sashes with cornices, and the central sash has a small segmental pediment. Above these, there are three smaller six-pane sashes. Below, there are two plain sashes, and to the right, there is a large elliptical arched entrance with a block keystone and a pair of framed panelled doors. The basement features two segment-headed openings, which are partially blocked. The rendered right return has a single window on each floor, with the lower one blocked, all having multi-keystone lintels. The interior has not been inspected.
