Description

Nos. 273 and 275 Glossop Road are two houses that have been converted into offices. They were built around 1830 and underwent some alterations in the late 19th century. The buildings are constructed of brick with ashlar dressings and feature a hipped slate roof with three coped external side wall stacks. They have a plinth, first and second floor sill bands, and deep eaves. The houses are three storeys tall and have a five-window range of tall 12-pane sash windows with brick flat arches. Above these, there are five smaller 12-pane sashes.

The central entrance has a painted stone doorcase with plain pilasters and scroll brackets supporting a flat hood. The entrance features a moulded four-panel door with a margin-glazed overlight. On either side of the door, there are two 12-pane sashes. The left side of the building includes a single-storey addition with a parapet, which has a plain sash window, and in the return angle, there is a flat-roofed corniced square porch with a side-facing four-panel door and a round-headed window. The rear of the building has a basement made of coursed squared stone, with two windows on each floor above. The lower right window on the rear has a French door with a wrought-iron balcony. The interior has not been inspected.
