Description

Walnut Cottage is a late 18th-century building that was originally two cottages but is now a single dwelling. It is constructed from coursed rubble limestone and has a pantile roof. The cottage is two storeys high and features five windows on the first floor, arranged in a 3:2 pattern.

The left part of the cottage has large quoins and a 20th-century panelled door with a segmentally-arched head, flanked by two-light horizontally-sliding casements with glazing bars, also beneath similar arches. On the first floor, there is a narrow single-light window flanked by two-light windows, matching those on the ground floor. The roof features shaped kneelers and gable copings, along with stone end stacks.

The right part of the cottage has a part-glazed door located to the right of centre, with a two-light casement to its right, both having arched heads. There is a square-headed two-light casement on the left. On the first floor, the right side has a two-light casement positioned beneath the lower eaves level, while the left window is located in a gabled dormer. The building is included for its group value.
