Description

Wyck Cottage is a late 18th- and early 19th-century building, originally two cottages that have been combined into one. It is constructed of coursed squared and dressed limestone with dressed stone quoins, and has a stone slate roof with ashlar and brick stacks. The main rectangular body of the cottage has later gable-end extensions. A flat-roofed extension projecting forwards at the front is not of particular architectural interest.

The cottage is 1½ storeys high, with two 3-light casement windows with horizontal glazing bars in segmental-headed surrounds to the ground floor. There are single-pane fire windows positioned on the far right and far left of the front elevation. Two 2-light dormers are visible in the eaves of the roof. A 20th-century plank door is located off-centre to the right, set within a segmental-headed surround with a gabled canopy supported by wooden brackets. A similar doorway to the left is now blocked and partially obscured by vegetation. A single-storey extension to the right includes a single-light steel casement window and a glazed door, both with horizontal glazing bars. Gable-end stacks are present. The interior was not inspected during listing.
