Description

Heythrop Cottage is a detached house dating from the mid-19th century, situated in Wyck Rissington village. The house is constructed of orange-coloured coursed squared and dressed limestone with cream-coloured dressed stone quoins. The roof is covered in stone slate, with some concrete tiles at the rear. Ashlar stacks are present. The building has a rectangular plan, with two contemporary extensions set at right angles to the rear. The symmetrical facade has three windows, each fitted with 12-pane sashes and horns. All windows have dressed stone surrounds with alternating horizontal and vertical quoins; the ground-floor windows also have keystones. The central entrance features a 19th-century six-panelled door with a rectangular hall light above, set within a dressed stone surround with a small keystone. Gable-end and axial stacks have moulded cappings. The interior has not been inspected.
