Description
Greenfields is a detached cottage located in Wyck Rissington, dating from the late 17th to early 18th century. The building features bands of orange and cream-coloured thinly bedded limestone, with dressed stone quoins and a stone slate roof. There is a 20th-century coursed and squared limestone stack on an ashlar stump. The cottage has a rectangular plan with a slightly later lean-to at the rear, although the 20th-century lean-to with a corrugated asbestos roof is not of special interest.
The cottage is two storeys high with an attic and has a symmetrical facade with two windows. The ground floor has 4-light double-chamfered stone-mullioned casements, while the first floor features two similar but 3-light windows. All windows are equipped with stopped hoods and horizontal glazing bars. The central door, which is from the 19th century, has four panels, with the upper two now glazed, and is set within a flat-chamfered Tudor-arched surround, accompanied by a 20th-century gabled stone-built porch. There is also a gable-end window in the attic. Inside, the cottage has a spine beam.
