Description
Highfield is a detached cottage located in Wyck Rissington, dating from the mid-17th century and extended in the 20th century. The building is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with dressed stone quoins, topped by a stone slate roof and ashlar stacks. The main body of the cottage is rectangular and has been extended by one bay to the right and at right angles to the rear right. It is 1 and a half storeys tall, featuring two 3-light hollow-chamfered stone-mullioned casements with stopped hoods on the ground floor, along with two 20th-century 2-light eaves dormers. The facade of the main body has a 20th-century glazed door with glazing bars at its center, which is sheltered by a stone slab porch. The extension to the right has a 20th-century door with a stone canopy supported by moulded stone brackets. The gable-end stacks, one of which is now axial, have moulded cappings and flat-chamfered or moulded skirting.
