Description
The water conduit in Wyck Rissington is a structure from the late 19th to early 20th century. It is made of coursed squared and dressed limestone, with a brick backdrop supporting the conduit. There are sandstone steps leading up to the trough. The backdrop features a gabled design with side buttresses. It has a flat-chamfered segmental-pointed recess that contains a white ceramic tile back and a lion's head water spout positioned above a stone slab trough. At the apex of the gable, there is a blind trefoil with an indecipherable monogram. The gable is coped and topped with a cross finial and roll-cross saddles. In front of the water trough, there is a twin flight of steps leading up to a stone standing, which has a hole at its center that may have been used for a pump.
