Description
Letwell Post Office is a row of cottages that have been converted into two dwellings and a Post Office. The building consists of two sections, likely constructed in the late 18th century and early 19th century. It is made of rubble limestone and features a pantile roof. The structure is two storeys high with three windows on the left section and four windows on the right section on the first floor. The left part has a plinth and quoins. There are three doorways with rock-faced surrounds, each flanked by two-light mullioned windows that have casements with glazing bars set in square-faced surrounds with projecting sills. The leftmost dwelling, No 16, has an inserted window immediately to the left of the door. The first floor has similar windows, with an additional matching window above the door of No 16. No 16 also features two ashlar ridge stacks, while the rest of the range has a taller ridge with brick end stacks and a central ridge stack.
