Description
This milepost, located approximately 40 metres west of the entrance to Wyndthorpe Hall, dates from the late 19th century and was made by Brayshaw and Booth of Liversedge. It is constructed from cast iron and is fixed on a stone pillar. The milepost features angled sides and a sloping top plate beneath a round-headed panel. The raised lettering on the upper panel reads: "DONCASTER & THORNE / ROAD / HATFIELD." The left side indicates "DONCASTER / 5 MILES," while the right side shows "THORNE / 5 1/4 MILES / HATFIELD / 2 MILES."
