Description
This is a milepost from the late 19th century, made by Brayshaw and Booth of Liversedge. It is constructed from cast iron and fixed onto a gritstone pillar. The milepost features angled sides and a sloping top plate beneath a round-headed panel. The raised lettering on the left side indicates "ROTHERHAM/7 MILES," while the right side reads "MANSFIELD/16 1/4 MILES/PLEASLEY/13 1/4 MILES." The top panel displays "ROTHERHAM & PLEASLEY/ROAD/WALES."
