Description
Bow House is a house dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of red brick in Flemish bond and features a pantile roof. The building has an L-shaped plan with an extended wing at the rear right and lean-to additions in the angle. It stands three storeys tall and has three windows on the first floor. The central entrance consists of a six-panel door with a three-pane overlight, all set beneath a flat arch. The outer bays of the house have later two-storey canted bay windows, each with sashes containing eight, twelve, and eight lights on each floor. On the first floor, there is a central sash window with glazing bars, also beneath a flat brick arch. The second floor features three six-pane sashes under flat arches. The house has shaped kneelers, chamfered gable copings, and external brick end stacks. On the right return, there are old sashes with glazing bars on the ground and first floors of the wing. The stair outshut on the right includes a round-headed window with Gothick glazing bars and a lean-to roof, along with cogged eaves. A later two-storey addition to the wing has dentilled eaves.
