Description

Milepost located 30 metres north of Stonehaven, dating from the early 19th century. It is made of cast iron and has a triangular plan with chamfered faces. The left face indicates "DONCASTER 4 MILES," while the right face reads "THORNE 6½ MILES, HATFIELD 3 MILES." The flat curved top displays "DONCASTER and THORNE ROAD, LONG SANDALL." The milepost is painted white with raised lettering in black paint.
