Description
Hall Drive Cottage is a house from the mid-19th century, built for the Cantley Hall estate. It is constructed from cement-rendered brick and features a graduated slate roof. The building is two storeys high and has three bays across the front, with a lean-to wing at the rear center. It has a plinth and a central porch that is supported by clasping pilasters and features a full entablature. The porch contains a part-glazed door with a blind panel above, both framed with architraves. The sash windows have projecting sills and glazing bars, set in ashlar surrounds beneath cornices on consoles. A moulded string course runs along the first floor, continuing from the porch cornice. The hipped roof has overhanging eaves and two corniced stacks at the rear. The rear of the house features unequally-hung nine-pane sashes similar to those at the front. The right side of the building has windows that match those at the front. Previously known as Chauffeurs Cottage, it served that purpose for the nearby Cantley Hall. The attached outbuildings on the left are not of special interest.
