Description

The ha-ha forming the boundary of the gardens to the north, west, and south of Cantley Hall is likely from the late 18th century and was created for Childers Walbank Childers of Cantley Hall. It is constructed from river boulders and magnesian limestone rubble. The structure features a low retaining wall set in a U-shaped curve, accompanied by a well-maintained ditch on the field side. This ha-ha is included for its group value with the adjacent buildings.
