Description

SE60SW CANTLEY MILL LANE 3/54 Mill chimney at Cantley 14th March 1980 Mill GV II Freestanding chimney. For William Childers. Formerly dated 'WC/1845' (previous list description). Red brick in English garden wall bond. Tall, square-sectioned plinth with battered sides and plain ashlar band; tapered shaft becomes octagonal at top where it is strapped by bolted iron bands. Date must refer to conversion of Cantley Mill (q.v.) to steam power.
