Description
This barn, located approximately 20 metres west of Far Westhorpe Farmhouse, dates from the early 18th century and has been altered over time. It is constructed of coursed, squared rubble, with some parts rendered, and features an asbestos roof. The barn has four internal bays, with a square-headed cart entry in the second bay and a chamfered entrance to the right. There are two small round-arched lights positioned high up, while similar lights below have been altered to accommodate larger casements. The left bay may have been rebuilt. At the rear, there is an opposing square-headed cart entry. Inside, the barn contains three principal rafter trusses supported by queen struts and large-scantling tie-beams. This barn is included for its group value.
