Description
This milestone, located approximately 100 metres south of the track to Snapethorpe Farm, dates from the mid to late 19th century. It is made of stone and features a cast-iron triangular front with a rounded top. The raised letters on the front indicate the distances to various locations: Barnsley and Grangemoor Road, Kexborough, Huddersfield, Barnsley (12¼ miles), and Bretton (2¼ miles). The cast-iron front is broken at the top.
