Description

This milestone, located opposite the track to Alderman's Head Cote Farm, dates from the late 19th century. It features a stone post with a cast-iron front. The top is round, and the front is triangular in shape. The raised letters on the milestone indicate distances: Wadsley, Langsett, and Sheffield Road Langsett are 13 ½ miles away, Sheffield is 13 miles away, and Holmfirth is 8 miles away.
