Description

This milestone, located approximately 5 metres east of the junction with Mortimer Road, dates from the late 19th century. It is made of stone with a cast-iron front. The milestone features a round top and a triangular front. The raised letters indicate the directions and distances to various locations: Wadsley & Langsett, Sheffield Road, Langsett, Huddersfield (14 ½ miles), and Sheffield (12 miles), with Holmfirth noted as being 9 miles away.
