Description
This milestone, located approximately 400 metres west of the junction with Underbank Lane in Hunshelf, dates from the late 19th century. It is made of stone and features a cast-iron front. The milestone has a triangular shape with a rounded top. The raised letters on the front indicate the distances to various locations: Wadsley, Langsett, and Sheffield Road, with Huddersfield 15 ½ miles away, 11 miles to Sheffield, and 10 miles to Holmfirth.
