Description

This milestone, located approximately 300 metres north of the Prince of Wales Public House in Hepworth, dates from the late 19th century. It features a cast-iron triangular front with a rounded top, mounted on a stone post. The raised letters on the milestone indicate directions and distances, reading: "NEW MILL DISTRICT ROAD HEPWORTH HUDDERSFIELD SHEFFIELD 9½ MILES 17 MILES."
