Description
Upper Wood Royd Farmhouse is a farmhouse dated 1806, constructed from squared, coursed rubble with some parts rendered, and features a stone slate roof. The building has two storeys and two bays. The central doorway is framed with a quoined surround, and above it is an ornamental plaque that reads "D S K H Anno Domini 1806." The windows are three-light flat-faced stone mullions, except for the ground floor right window, which is a 4-pane sash. To the right of this window, there is a blocked later doorway. The first-floor windows have horizontal glazing bars, and the central lights contain sashes. The gable ends are adorned with copings on cut kneelers, and there are ashlar end stacks featuring string courses. The rear elevation includes a later addition on the ground floor left, and there are small lean-to additions on the left and right returns, which are not of special interest.
