Description

The 8½ Miles Post at the junction of Gate Head Lane is a mile post dating from the mid to late 19th century. It features a cast iron triangular front with a rounded top, mounted on a stone post. The inscription reads: "NEW MILL DISTRICT ROAD HEPWORTH SHEFFIELD HUDDERSFIELD 18 MILES 8½ MILES."
