Description
Green Farmhouse is a former farmhouse that served as a crosswing to a late medieval timber-framed hall block, which has since been demolished. The building features a lintel dated 1711. It is constructed from deeply coursed, squared gritstone and has a Welsh slate roof. The farmhouse is two storeys high with an attic and has two windows on the first floor. There is a gable entry with a door to the left, which is set within a 20th-century stone porch. The ground and first floors have 20th-century openings with dripmoulds. There is a blocked double-chamfered opening in the attic, also with a dripmould above it. The gable ends have moulded kneelers and cavetto-moulded gable copings. The opposite gable has altered or blocked double-chamfered windows, with a dripmould, ledge, and blocked pigeon holes above the attic window. On the right side of the building, there are two double-chamfered mullion windows on each floor, each with dripmoulds. A large central ashlar ridge stack with a shouldered design, moulded string, and cornice is present. There is a 20th-century flat-roofed extension on the left side, which is not of special interest. The building has not been fully inspected.
