Description

Lower Belle Clive Farmhouse is a late 18th-century farmhouse located off Hart Cliff Road, near Langsett. Constructed of coursed squared stone with a stone slate roof, it presents a symmetrical three-bay facade. The farmhouse features quoins and a central doorway with a quoined surround and deep lintel. Originally, there were single windows on each side of the facade on both floors, which may have previously featured central mullions. A small single-light window sits above the door. Modern casement windows are now in place throughout. The gables have copings on moulded kneelers, and there are ashlar gable stacks with cornices.

The rear elevation includes a single-storey addition to the centre, which is not considered to be of special interest. To the left of the main building is a doorway with a re-set lintel inscribed with "ANO DN 1690 TF PAR." Two altered, double-chamfered windows are visible on the first floor, and a small central staircase window is located at an intermediate level.
