Description
This milepost, located approximately 500 metres west of the junction with Claycliffe Road, dates from the mid to late 19th century. It is made of stone and features a cast iron triangular front with a rounded top. The raised letters on the milepost indicate the distances to various locations: Barnsley, Shepley, Lane Head, Barugh, Cawthorne, Barnsley (2 miles), Denby Dale (6.5 miles), and Holmfirth (12 miles).
